Why Home Desk?

Things go wrong in a home all the time, and most of them are forgotten before they are fixed. Home Desk keeps them in one place and follows each one through.

How Is It Different From Giving an AI Access to Home Assistant?

A fair question, and one people ask: why not just give an AI agent access to your Home Assistant and prompt it?

An AI with access is good at one job at a time: you ask, and it looks. Home Desk is the other half, a place where problems live.

  • It keeps the record for you. Every problem has its own ticket, written down as it happens: what was wrong, what was tried and what was decided. An AI can remember too, but only when you ask it to, and only for you.
  • It has more than one source. Household members report problems, Repairs become tickets, and automations can raise them, all without anyone having to prompt anything. Everyone who administers your smart home sees the same tickets.
  • You stay in charge. Review With AI gives an opinion and proposes changes. Nothing happens until you apply them.
  • It is visual. Many people work better when they can see things laid out. Home Desk shows what is open, what is urgent and what is waiting, and each problem on its own, so it is easy to see them clearly and to tackle one at a time if you want to.
  • It works without AI. One switch in Settings turns every AI control off, and Home Desk is still a helpdesk.

For a quick one-off question, asking an AI directly is simpler, and you do not need Home Desk for that.
